Terms of Service

Last updated: July 24, 2026

1. The service

Lookalike Watch ("the service", "we") monitors public data sources — newly registered domain lists and certificate-transparency logs — for domains that resemble the brands you register with us, scores them, and notifies you through the channels you configure. The service is provided as a subscription over the web; there is no software for you to install and we never require access to your DNS, mail, or infrastructure.

2. Your account

You need an account and an organization (workspace) to use the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you register, for keeping access to your sign-in email secure, and for the people you invite into your organization. You may only register brands and domains that you own or are authorized to monitor on someone's behalf.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through our merchant of record, Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which processes payment and handles applicable sales tax. Plans are priced per monitored brand, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. When you cancel, monitoring continues to the end of the paid period. Plan limits (such as the number of monitored brands) are enforced by the service; downgrading below your current usage requires removing brands first.

4. Acceptable use

  • Don't use the service to monitor brands you have no rights to or legitimate interest in.
  • Don't probe, overload, or attempt to bypass the service's access controls or plan limits.
  • Don't resell access to the service except as part of an agreed managed-service (MSP) arrangement.
  • Don't use alerts or findings to harass domain registrants; takedowns and disputes are between you, registrars, and the applicable dispute processes.

5. Findings, accuracy, and what we don't promise

Detection is inherently best-effort. We work from public feeds that can lag, gap, or change; scoring is heuristic. We do not guarantee that every lookalike domain will be detected, or that every alert is a genuine threat. Findings are information to support your own judgment — they are not legal advice, a takedown determination, or proof of wrongdoing by any domain's registrant. Candidate domains shown by the service are potentially hostile; we display them defanged, and you act on them at your own risk.

6. Your data and ours

You keep all rights to the information you give us (your brands, domains, and configuration). We keep all rights to the service, including detection rules, scoring, and aggregated operational statistics that don't identify you. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Suspension and termination

You can delete your organization at any time from settings (after cancelling an active subscription). We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for other customers, with notice where practical. On termination we delete your organization's data within a commercially reasonable period, except records we must keep (such as billing records).

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including losses caused by a phishing or impersonation attack the service did not detect or did not detect in time.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is material we will notify account holders by email or in the product before it takes effect; continued use after the effective date is acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Utah have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these terms or the service, and both parties consent to venue there.
